A Case for the Worship of the Son of God:
Reflecting on the Nicene Creed
by Tami Jelinek
This paper is a short reflection on the original Nicene Creed of 325, which specifically addresses what the creed is saying about Jesus Christ, the Son of God, His relationship to God the Father, and His relationship to human beings. It also briefly names and addresses the issues that concerned the bishops at Nicaea at that time. The paper concludes with a modern paraphrase of the second stanza, motivated by pastoral as well as doctrinal considerations.
